NOTES FOR ORCHESTRA STRING PLAYERS:

1. New solo requirements list a publisher; however if another publisher is used, a student will not be excluded from the audition, but will be judged on notes and rhythms of the required edition.

2. No Cadenzas will be required.

3. Required solos for the Region I Junior HS Orchestra are the same as the four-year rotating All-State Intermediate Solo list.

4. Scales for the Region I Junior HS Orchestra are the same as those required for the All-State Intermediate Orchestra and can be found HERE.

5. In order to audition for All-State Intermediate (String) Orchestra, a student
must first be accepted into the Region I Junior HS Orchestra.

6. Any student in Grades 9-11 accepted into the Region 1 High School Orchestra may audition for the All-State High School Orchestra. Any student in Grades 7-9 accepted into the Region 1 Junior HS Orchestra may audition for the All-State Intermediate (String) Orchestra; however if a 9th Grader is accepted into both the HS and the Junior HS Region Orchestras, then the 9th Grader can only audition for one All-State group of his or her choice, High School or Intermediate Orchestra, not both.
