Welcome to NJSMA.com

As you may or may not know, NJSMA hosts a general membership/elections meeting every Spring. For many years, this meeting has included a dinner and scholarship winner performances. As a region, we have heard that the timing of this event is not optimal and the value of the informational meeting portion has diminished. Well...You spoke, we listened!

On behalf of the entire NJSMA executive board, we are proud to announce that this year, we are providing a full PD Day, complimentary to NJSMA/NAfME members, which will include the following:

- Our annual membership meeting
- Luncheon at which time NJSMA updates will be provided
- Elections
- Scholarship recipients will perform
- Workshops to be planned by each division.

Please see the attached flyer for more information and how to RSVP for this wonderful day we have planned. You can also use the following link:

***For an accurate head-count, please note that our RSVP deadline is May 29.***

Best Regards,

Joe Spina

Dear Music Educator,

Below is important updated information regarding the NJSMA Membership PD Day, a new Region 1 membership event, piloted by the NJSMA Executive Board.

There have been some questions regarding NJSMA membership, upon the offering of our first-ever NJSMA Membership PD Day.
NJSMA President, Joe Spina, spoke with the New Jersey Music Educators Association executive board this week to clarify
the qualifications of Region 1 North Jersey School Music Association membership.

The executive board of NJMEA clarified that a member of NJSMA:
1) is a current, paid NAfME member
2) either teaches in or resides in one of the following seven counties (Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Warren).

If you teach OR live in Region 1 (Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Warren),please join us for this inaugural Membership PD Day/Meeting!
The NJSMA Executive Board is pleased to offer this at no cost for Region 1 members.
Registration is required. Please complete this form: https://goo.gl/forms/4dMgRDhvZx10U7DJ3
(current membership ID # and expiration date required.)

Thank you for your understanding and patience as the NJSMA Executive Board works together to provide exceptional events and professional development
for our Region 1 membership.
Please share this updated information with colleagues/friends who hold NAfME membership and either teach or live in one of the Region 1 counties.
